There are 5 Predominant Event Styles to choose from no matter the size or meal your catering. With a couple of unique options that we can discuss more if your looking for the show stopping - experience for your friends & family. But let's start with the 5 main ones below.

Buffet Style Meal

This is a traditional meal style that is considered to be a little less formal for clients looking to have fun and works great for events that have a specific time-line to up hold. Guests are familiar with the format and you can add flare by providing a plated salad, or an action station built in. It takes a little less time away from the other festivities and it can also be paired with a traditional cocktail hour of either passed or stationary items. See the sample menu for a taste of what can be provided. Custom menus are created for each client around your ideas and event vision.

Pros: Can be a less expensive option, can be a faster meal service option

Cons: There are typically un-avoidable lines which can be minimized with planning, it is less formal than other styles of service and there is traditionally more food waste.

Plated Style Meal

This is a formal meal style that guests are sure to understand. It comes with as few as 2 courses and up to 18! Allowing us to create you a curated menu that will keep guests engaged while enjoying the meal. This creates less movement within the event space for a more seamless look and feel. You can also offer entree options that are too delicate for a buffet or station style meal. It can also be paired with a traditional cocktail hour of either passed or stationary items. See the sample menu for a taste of what can be provided. Custom menus are created for each client around your ideas and event vision.

Pros: This allows for less food waste, has an endless array of options and possibilities for menu ideas- a true foodies paradise. More streamlined guest experience.

Cons: It can take a little longer especially if guests linger when heading to there seats, it can cost slightly more as we will need to make sure there is the proper amount of staff to plate and serve the meal items.

Cocktail Style Party

This is typically for clients who want to PARTY! You want great food, fun presentation and the music to be cranked up. You are not as interested in formalities. This is often offered for events that are before or after traditional meal times or are a drop-in/out free form event. Of course you can customize this to incorporate some speeches or specific agenda points. In terms of the food. You can do a light cocktail party or a heavy cocktail party both are typically served with passed and stationary hors d'oeuvres. See the sample menu for a taste of what can be provided. Custom menus are created for each client around your ideas and event vision.

Pros: Its fun, Its Current, It can be a little easier on the budget

Cons: Guest may be expecting dinner and therefore may be confused and frustrated at the small portions, service staff can add up quickly depending on the menu and there typically isn’t a clear this is cocktail hour and now we are transitioning to the reception as it all tends to blend together.

Station Style Party

This is typically for clients who want to have a more progressive style of dining that utilities an entire space and encourages movement of guests. Food stations will stay out and open longer than a buffet style meal to encourage guests to eat there tapas portions while dancing and chatting. This option works well when guests are expecting a full meal to be served and can be paired with a traditional cocktail hour/items to create the perfect balance. See the sample menu for a taste of what can be provided. Custom menus are created for each client around your ideas and event vision.

Pros: Its fun, Its Current, for the right couple you can push boundaries with food that you may not be able to do with a buffet or plated meal. The displays can become a fabulous opportunity to create something awesome!

Cons: Guest may be expecting a traditional dinner and may not understand how to behave with this new style of meal service - i.e. they may form lines and eat like its a buffet going from one table to the next collecting all items before eating the first, service staff can add up quickly depending on the menu. We recommend clear communication with your invitations or wedding web-site as well as a fun sign at the wedding to help show the overall time-line for the evening.

Family Style Meal

This is a new dinning style to the event industry but comes right out of your mom and grandma’s dining rooming. Throwing you back to a by gone era that is currently very popular. We love this option but we do caution you - it will take a little more planning and communication to pull it off seamlessly.  This style of meal is two courses and starts with a pre-plated, pre-set first course and is then followed by the main meal which is served family style and encourages guests interaction at there dinner tables. This can be great for mixing guests who may not know each other that well.  See the sample menu for a taste of what can be provided. Custom menus are created for each client around your ideas and event vision.

Pros: This will be sure to be a first for most of your guests giving them something to talk about for years to come. There will be less guest movement and can provide some deeper more personal interaction for you and your guests.

Cons: This service style can be a little messier, there can be more food waste, there tends to be a lot of service staff required. There is more planning required to make sure form meets function and style.
